The BKBIA is currently accepting art portfolio submissions from Long Beach-based artists to be considered for an outdoor building mural. The mural will be on the southwest wall of the Allery, located at Burlinghall and Atlantic Ave.

 

Requirements: The mural must be paint-based and should align with the family-friendly feeling of Bixby Knolls. The theme is “Sea Dragon.” Applicant must provide a sample artwork portfolio for consideration by the BKBIA. Because we want the mural to be started by Saturday, June 9th, we will conduct in-person portfolio reviews. All Applicants must be 18 years or older. All Applicants must agree to the BKBIA terms and conditions below, or the Applicant’s submission will not be considered.

 

Selection Process: Applicants are encouraged to apply by filling out the form below. Submissions will be reviewed by the BKBIA and selected Applicants will be called by Tuesday, June 4. If selected to create a Mural and prior to beginning the proof of concept, Applicant will be invited to the Allery to view the Mural space. Subject to the terms and conditions below, each selected Applicant will work with the BKBIA to complete a concept for a Mural by Thursday, June 7th, 2018.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

    Terms & Conditions: Any information provided to the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association (the BKBIA) by Applicant through this form will be used in consideration of selecting artists to provide the BKBIA with a mural for the Allery. If selected to create a Mural, Applicant agrees to execute an assignment of copyright agreement and independent contractor agreement with the BKBIA. The BKBIA will own all rights to the Mural created by the selected Applicant for this initiative. Applicant agrees that by merely submitting this form for consideration by the BKBIA for its Mural initiative, the BKBIA will not be obligated to Applicant. The BKBIA will not compensate or owe Applicant for their time or materials utilized in the course of this submission. The BKBIA reserves the right to select the Applicant(s) and final Mural concepts, in its sole discretion.
